When people call and want to see pictures of flower arrangements, I try not to cringe. I know what they mean, my customers just want to see a picture to help them now what they like. What I like to hear is "Just make me something pretty". Those catalog pictures are so generic and look like any florist, anywhere.... They are made to be available any time of the year, in any city, and performed by any designer. To ensure this, they use "economy flowers" like carnations and daisies, novelty containers, and very basic floral skills. I don't get any special warm fuzzies from these.
